Hello from your Albany Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization!  We hope that you are having a great summer. We are thrilled to welcome most of you back and for those who are new to the school we would personally like to welcome you to our very involved PTO.

Who Is The Albany PTO?

The Albany Elementary School PTO is an organization of parent and teacher volunteers that support the school and enhance each and every child’s education in and out of the classroom.  Part of what makes Albany Elementary School a great place to learn is the widespread support and engagement from our very active parent community.

What Does The PTO Do?

Throughout the year, the PTO supports school initiatives or activities, hosts events and works hard to provide opportunities that reach every student and improve Albany Elementary School with each year. (See membership form page for a most of our events).

How Can You Support The PTO?

The PTO supports initiatives, activities and events that reach every student and parent. Our PTO volunteers maintain assist with Family Fun Night, Bookfair, monthly popcorn, donut or ice cream sales and school dances.  If you cannot volunteer during school hours we do have some afterschool events also.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Pay Your Dues – The PTO requests support from every family because every family benefits from the PTO’s activities and events. The suggested amount is $5.00 per family.  Your membership fee is good for the year and helps to offset some of the cost of the great things we’re planning during your child’s upcoming school year.  Please see the enclosed flier for more information on how to donate and what dues support.
  • Volunteer – Just as important, the PTO and the school needs and welcomes volunteers. PTO strives to help our hard-working students gain the best advantages and rewards.  Please consider volunteering at an event or get involved in your own way, there are many jobs to fill and we need your help!  Some events we need volunteers are our Chocolate sale, picture day and holiday events; any volunteer hours you can give are greatly appreciated.

Fund-raise – Fundraising events are necessary to make our PTO successful.  Our main fundraiser is World’s Finest Chocolate Sale which funds our busing for students to go on field-trips.  Throughout the school year we have various sales. Fundraising also helps with our annual end of year carnival, which is an amazing full day event with bounce houses, snow cones, cotton candy and much more!

 

HOW DO I STAY INFORMED?

Albany Elementary PTO strives to inform parents of all that is happening at Albany Elementary School.   ClassDojo, monthly letters and our school website are the main channels of communication.

  • Website – Please go on our school website at www.albanyelempto.com .  The website is mobile friendly and contains the most current information about the school and daily life at Albany Elementary School.
  • ClassDojo –   ClassDojo is a classroom communication app used to share information between parents and Albany School.  We encourage all families to sign up for ClassDojo.  Please see your child’s teacher to sign up In closing, we urge you to visit our website for the latest events and information. Thank you for choosing Albany as your child’s school. It’s going to be a fantastic year and we look forward to supporting each and every child inside and outside of the classroom!
  • Direct Contact – On the website you’ll find a list of the PTO executive board members. If you’re interested in learning more about PTO, please stop by our PTO Welcome Booth at Albany Elementary School’s Open House on Wednesday September 19th and join us for our first PTO school meeting on Thursday September 27th @ 6:30 pm in the school cafeteria.
